Magpie just left in her Hot Candy Apple Red Santa Fe to run an errand for me.

Mickey has some fleas, and I need some Capstar. Magpie will run to the Four Paws Animal Boutique, and pick me up some Capstar. They are the same price at my Pet Boutique as they are at Pet Meds, so why pay postage? Capstar removes fleas from my dogs immediately. I don’t dose them up with it, but I combine: bathing with flea shampoo, flea and tick collars, and Capstar as a routine. Here in the deep south, we have to check our dogs for ticks and fleas regularly. Fleas, well fleas are an ongoing responsibility of owning a dog. Ticks too, but ticks are easier to control on dogs than fleas.

Anyway; Magpie got her driver’s license in March. She wanted her own car. My old van would not do. We are talking GMC Safari white van uncool for a newly licensed teenage girl. She pleads with LB. LB gives in to Magpie, they go car shopping. Come back with Hot Candy Apple Red Santa Fe. It is a really cute car.

Magpie got really handy.

  • picking up groceries
  • picking up Capstar
  • running to post office
  • putting gas in my car
  • going to the bank

I was thinking, and this gets into the whole Modern Technology thing. When I was growing up, there was cash and checks. There were some credit cards but not like there are now.

I have a CHECK card. Magpie loves the idea of the CHECK card.

Now listen up. She does not get anything that is not on my list. She KNOWS better.

And I have CLEARLY explained that a CHECK card does not WORK if there is no MONEY in the account.

Magpie just got her first real job at the Water Park this summer. So she is learning about how to GET money in the account.

Modern Technology has drawbacks, but also conveniences.

I get to blog while Magpie runs my errands using my CHECK card! In her Hot Candy Apple Red Santa Fe.

So far, it has been a WIN WIN situation.
