Magpie ~ The Rancher’s Daughter’s Daughter
The Magpie is 16 years old.
Magpie is the rancher’s daughter’s daughter.
It seems like yesterday that she was just a wee thing.
They grow up so fast.
She got her driver’s license.
She got a car.
A really pretty red car.
She wants to go go go all the time.
Of COURSE she does!
She is a lifeguard.
She will be working at the Water Park this summer.
Magpie’s middle name is Leotie, which is a Native American name that means “flower of the prairie.”
I love her middle name.
Her true first name is not Magpie, but she has always been pretty much like a Magpie.
Magpie: a person who chatters, and collects odds and ends.
So that nickname sort of “stuck” many years ago.
Except: pre birth we called her NEMO.
Then Magpie was born and had a completely full head of hair. HAIR. And then lost it.
She was a fat baby, 10 pounds to be exact! So she was a fat baby for a brief time with NO hair.
LB called her Alfred. You follow? Alfred, as in HITCHCOCK! That is just LB’s way, sinister and don’t stir. (Big Grin. He’s a honey!)
She thinned up, she is a healthy child, always was.
She is a skinny, tanned, lifeguard blond.
WITH hair, and NOT fat.
HANDS OFF!
