We’ve been married almost 20 years.

I am as crazy in love with him as I ever was, if not more.

I was a city girl. I was raised in the city, lived in the city.

Atlanta is a BIG city. That is where I had ended up just before I met LB.

I was born in Washington DC, but I don’t remember it, we left when I was very small.

I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. And after a few more stops ended up working and living in Atlanta.

I got tired of the big city. The traffic. I tried to garden in the city, but I had to do it all in containers, and I wanted to live where I could go outside and not see anybody on either side. I wanted to grill out without anyone watching me. I wanted some privacy and seclusion. I wanted to hear crickets and frogs at night. I wanted to have a big garden. So….I moved.

I took a job in a very small town in Alabama. Very very small. I was lucky to find a JOB in such a small town. It had to be fate.

Did I say it was a very small town? Very small. It was so small that just about the ONLY thing you heard at night were crickets and frogs.

I thought this would be fun.

It was a very rural town.

That is where I met my sweet country boy, LB.

We fell in love and got married. REALLY in love.

Once in a lifetime kind of love.

Soul mate, made for each other kind of love.

There were some parts in between, but that is how it ended up.

LB is really cute. He looks like Dale Earnhardt. Everybody tells him that.

Get him in the right sunglasses and in the right light, and you’ll swear you’re looking at Dale.

He is what I would call a Master Builder. He has been in construction all of his life.

He can build anything. He has built houses, commercial buildings, barns, warehouses, swimming pools, fountains.

We have a working water wheel out back that he built himself.

He hand laid every rock around our swimming pool.

He is really talented. He can add up figures in his head like nobody’s business. I wish I could do that. Instead I just always ask him what the total is.
